Ms Carole Kagi

Ms Carole Kagi brings to the Council a lifetime of knowledge and experience in several perspectives of living with disabilities.

Ms Kagi has worked in most levels of service provision to parents and children including child protection and domestic violence. The past 40 years were spent in both State and Federal Government delivering services to the community, developing policy, designing and implementing programs and providing advice to government ministers. She also has experience in the non-government sector with the National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN) where she was National President for a number of years in a voluntary capacity.

Her adult son receives services from several disability agencies and Ms Kagi has needed to understand what is available. These include Alternatives to Employment, The Supported Wage Management Scheme, health care, recreation options, services for the blind, technology options, supported accommodation, sources of funding for services, employment, independent living support and models of service delivery including client directed services.

Ms Kagi has also worked with disability employment agencies to provide work experiences for their clients and developed work place plans to increase participation of people with a disability in employment.
