Anthony Pursell is a retired teacher who spent most of his career employed as Teacher-in-Charge of Special Classes in high schools – together with teaching this also involved family liaison, involving students in integration activities, setting up work experience and helping to find out-of-school employment, many aspects of ‘life’ that needed to be coped with by students and their families.

He has also worked as a tutor, mentor and family resource person; in particular with Aboriginal families for the Department of Welfare/Social Services.

Mr Pursell is a very active volunteer in his home town of Busselton where he works with Disabled Surfers Association, Disabled Sailing through rotary, Cliff’s Kitchen – a soup kitchen that provides around 100 lunches each week and City of Busselton’s Access and Inclusion Committee.
