Ms Kerry Allan-Zinner (Chairperson)

Ms Kerry Allan-Zinner has had a long and rewarding career in disability advocacy and supporting people’s human rights. Ms Allan-Zinner is a former member of the Ministerial Advisory Council on Disability (MACD) in WA from 2003 and served as Chair from 2006 to 2008. Kerry is also a former Chair of the Cerebral Palsy Association of WA (now known as Ability Centre Australasia).

Until 2013, Kerry ran a disability awareness consultancy business, “Another Angle Consulting and Training”. The business focus was ensuring Quality Disability and Public Sector services, access and inclusion for all, and disability awareness within communities. Her passion for ensuring quality and equality for people with disability, families and carers; particularly, in the areas of lifestyle of choice, housing and accommodation options, education, and employment/career building, continues.

Over the past nine years Kerry has contributed in a variety of different ways to the development of the NDIS as an informant, being consulted on her views about various aspects of the Scheme and is currently serving on the Independent Advisory Council on NDIA (National Disability Insurance Agency).

Kerry brings lived experience to each role having been born with Cerebral Palsy. Kerry cites her life’s greatest joy being a mother of three and is now enjoying the journey as a grandparent.
